A GARAGE BOTH WONDERFUL AND STRANGE

A GARAGE BOTH WONDERFUL AND STRANGE
with Moritz Lehner and Calvary Fisher

This project brought together event-choreography, architecture, video, sound design, light design, 2D imagery, and even sense of smell in an attempt to transform a garage and surrounding area into a fully immersive environment.

The installation was completed in three days without any prior planning -- the conceptual direction was taken directly from, and changed alongside, our experience in the space during that time. This process of designing entirely while constructing, free flowing collaboration, and physical labor, primarily during the night, in itself became a performative and aesthetic event of equal importance to the final installation.

The product was the "garage world" -- an immersive sensory experience, a social gathering, a dance of sorts, a place to sit and contemplate, all at once.
